004 - Charmander 185px-004Charmander
Charmander: 004 - Charmander Fire
HP: 39
Attack: 52
Defense: 43
Special Attack: 60
Special Defense: 50
Speed: 65
Abilities: Blaze / Solar Power
Overview: Charmander is blessed with the ability Solar Power in a tier full of Clear Skies. With a Timid nature, Charmander hits about as hard as Modest Solosis but with much more Speed. Charmander also boasts a fairly diverse movepool, including several physical set up moves. However, Charmander's frailty, weakness to Stealth Rock, and the constant damage provided by Solar Power prevents him from staying around too long without Wish support which is hard to provide Charmander.

004 - Charmander 4
Set: Solar Scarf
Item: Choice Scarf
Ability: Solar Power
Nature: Timid
EVs: 36 HP / 236 Special Attack / 236 Speed
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Dragon Pulse
- Dragon Rage
- Overheat / Flamethrower
With Charmander's immediate power in the sun, a Choice Scarf gives him the speed to revenge kill with ease. Fire Blast provides heavy damage with somewhat risky accuracy, and you may find Flamethrower's power in the sun is plenty strong. The combination of Dragon- and Fire-type provides perfect coverage, with Dragon Pulse cutting through many of the tier's Dragon-types. Dragon Rage provides a reliably powerful hit against any foe and can boast a 2HKO agianst almost any Pokemon in EFT. Overheat is a great option to use if you just need to drop a bomb and get Charmander out of there, but if you picked Fire Blast for the first slot you can also use the reliable Flamethrower as back up.

004 - Charmander 4
Set: Belly Mander
Item: Salac Berry
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP / 240 Attack / 12 Defense / 16 Special Defense / 236 Speed
- Substitute
- Belly Drum
- Fire Punch
- Crunch / Dragon Claw
Unleashing a Fire Punch with +6 stages of Attack, with Blaze activated and Clear Skies deals a huge amount of damage. After a Substitute and Belly Drum, Salac Berry activates to give Charmander a Speed boost along with the sky high Attack. With Crunch, Charmander can even plow through an Eviolite Slowpoke with a bit of damage on it. Fire- and Dark-type coverage is nearly unresisted, but the few Pokemon who do resists it would hardly stand up to the grisly Fire Punch. Charmander has more powerful offensive options, but they either have recoil or unreliable accuracy.
